First United Methodist Church offers a variety of exciting educational, hands-on ministries for people of all ages to enhance their own spiritual growth and develop a strong feeling of family through the community of faith.

Christian Education encourages church people of all ages to involve their heart, soul, mind, and strength in developing their spiritual life. There are education programs for all ages at the First Methodist Church, beginning in the Nursery through Adults. Programs are offered on Sunday Mornings and throughout the week.

Inspiration Study Class
This class engages adults in Bible Study and inspires them to apply the lessons in their daily lives.The class meets in LEC 204 and uses the "Adult Bible Study Lesson Series".

Social Concerns Committee/Study Group           Monthly Activity Reports
Not a typical Sunday morning class, the Social Concerns Committee/Study Group covers a broad spectrum of social concerns. Join us to help make the world a better place in which to live. The present study topic is Caring for God’s Earth (conservation).

Since its formation in 1995, the group and its members have played key roles in the support of various social programs in the Boca Raton area—Habitat for Humanity, Boca Helping Hands, BRIA, and CROS Ministries among others. The group welcomes new ideas, comments and thoughts on its current activities.

Truth Seekers
Open to all interested young adults. The mission of Truth Seekers is to reach out to young adults in Christian love and fellowship and experience the word of God through bible study and discussion and to grow in knowledge and understanding of the plan that God has for our lives.

Desciple Bible Study
Disciple I, II, III are offered at various times and locations throughout the year. Each course of study runs for 34-36 weeks. Open to all. Please check the bulletin for details.

Each course of Disciple study focuses on select parts of the bible. Disciple I focus on a general overview of the whole bible; Disciple II focuses on Genesis, Exodus, Luke, Acts and Disciple III focuses on the Prophets and the letters of Paul. The purpose of all three courses of study is to develop strong Christian leaders through regular in-depth study of scripture.

Walk of Emmaus
Adult Men and Adult Women (separate weekends for each)
A 72-hour experience that begins Thursday evening and ends Sunday evening. The mission of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, and places of work. Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to be lived and shared with others.

Children's Church School
Ages 3 through 5th Grade
Sunday school is the foundation on which a life-long faith can be built. First Methodist encourages participation in the numerous enrichment opportunities provided by staff and volunteers who create a loving and learning environment for children of all ages.

All children are invited to Sunday school class beginning at 9:30. Bible stories are coordinated with music, crafts, and playtime. Loving volunteers provide a nurturing and caring environment.

Rainbow Riders
Ages 3 through 5th Grade
All children are encouraged to attend the first part of the 11:00 worship service with their parents or teacher volunteers. Children exit worship after the children’s sermon and proceed to classes located on the 1st floor of the Education Building. Parents are requested to meet their children on the 1st floor at their classrooms following the 11:00 worship service.

Vacation Bible School
Ages 3 through the end of the 4th Grade
Offered for one week during the summer months from 9:00-Noon daily.

A fun-filled week where children and adults come together to hoot and holler, pray and sing, have fun, snacks and share stories about what it means to be part of God’s family.
