Frequently asked questions

Q

When and where are the worship services?

We have six services:

Sundays 8:00 am  East Campus—Casual Traditional
Sundays 9:30 am  West Campus—Traditional
Sundays 9:30 am  East Campus—Contemporary
Sundays 11:00 am  East Campus—Traditional
Sundays 11:30 am  West Campus—Contemporary
Tuesdays  7:00 pm  East Campus—Celebrate Recovery

Although distinctly different, all services feature a great message from the pastor, as well as a time for greeting and fellowship, and a time for prayer. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month at all Sunday services. Professional nursery care is available for all our services.

Q

What do I wear to church?

There is no dress code and you will see a variety of styles. In fact, you’ll find the Contemporary Sunday morning services quite casual. Some people attending the traditional services dress up, but others wear "workplace" or casual clothes.

Q

What can I expect at your worship services?

We hope that nothing you experience at First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton will ever make you uncomfortable, but the "unknown" can make anyone a little uneasy. If you have any questions find one of the ushers.

Q

What types of services do you have?

East Campus

Our 8:00 Traditional Service is our early morning worship gathering held in our East Campus Sanctuary.  This intimate time of worship usually includes hymns accompanied by piano, a time of prayer, and a meaningful sermon preached by one of our pastors.  If you are an early riser, we hope you will join this faithful group of worshipers as we lift up the name of Jesus.

Our 9:30 Contemporary Service is a large, informal gathering.  This service meets at the East Campus in “The Gathering Place,” our multipurpose worship, fellowship and recreation space.   Most Sundays include engaging worship music by our praise band and singers.  You will also be able to hear a relevant sermon in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.  We hope you will join us for a truly fun and meaningful worship experience!

Our 11:00 Traditional Service is our largest traditional service.  It is held in our East Campus Sanctuary.  Most Sundays include hymns accompanied by piano and organ, special music from our Chancel Choir, a children’s message, a time of prayer and an engaging sermon.   Our 11:00 gathering is a wonderful time of passionately expressing our love for God in a time-honored traditional format.  We hope you will join us!

West Campus

Our 9:30 Traditional Service is held in our intimate West Campus Chapel.  Most Sundays include classic hymns accompanied by our organist, a time of sharing prayer requests, a meaningful sermon, and occasional special music from our choral ensemble.   When you visit, you will find a warm congregation ready to greet you and we hope you will join us for coffee and conversation after the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Our 11:30 Contemporary Service is held in our West Campus Chapel.   This high energy worship experience includes passionate praise music led by our West Campus Band and a relevant message given in casual environment.  When you visit we hope you will be able to sit back, relax and engage in a time of life-changing worship.
