Membership in the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton is open to you if have been baptized or are willing to be baptized and you are ready and willing: to keep God’s holy will and commandments and walk in the same all the days of your life as a faithful member of Christ’s holy church; and to be loyal to The United Methodist Church, and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service. You can join the church though confirmation as a student 12 years of age or older; confession of faith; or transfer of membership from another church. Your membership can be as a full member of First Church of Boca Raton only; an affiliate member when you are a full member of another United Methodist church, but attending First Church of Boca Raton for part of the year, especially if you are a seasonal resident in South Florida; an associate member when you are a full member of another non-United Methodist church, but attending First Church of Boca Raton for part of the year, especially if you are a seasonal resident in South Florida; or a preparatory member if you a baptized child under the age of 12 years. The membership process starts with Check It Out, a 5 week course given quarterly where you experience Rich Fellowship; learn about Active Discipleship through Christian growth; discover ways to find your Spiritual Gifts; explore how to serve others through Caring Ministry; and share God’s love through Heartfelt Evangelism.
