Outreach Ministries administers FUMC's Mission Projects. It selects and certifies mission projects for approval by the Administrative Council. It promotes the mission projects and disburses funds contributed to these projects and to church-sponsored missionaires. Present membership includes representatives from Boca Helping Hands, Habitat for Humanity, C.R.O.S., Family Promise, Methodist Children's Home, and our Missionaires. Please see our Mission Project Calendar for specific information.
Boca Helping Hands Boca Helping Hands is a non-profit group of interfaith congregations who have come together to help the hungry and the poor in the Boca Raton area. Boca Helping Hands helps feed the needy in our community through a lunch program and a food pantry, and connecting them with area resources. In addition, Boca Helping Hands seeks to promote community awareness of our neighbors currently in need of assistance.
C.R.O.S. Ministries The mission of Christians Reaching Out to Society, Inc. (C.R.O.S.) is to enable people of all faiths to work together to identify needs, to collaborate with community groups and to assist in creating solutions for those members of our community who are in need. C.R.O.S. has Food Pantries, a Caring Kitchen, a gleaning program, summer camps and a computer program.
Disaster Assistance Relief Team (D.A.R.T.) The team works on houses locally and away to help less fortunate people get their homes rebuilt. It meets once a month and has a work day once a month.
Family Promise The program of Family Promise brings shelter, meals and support services to families without homes. Up to 14 persons (adults and children) are housed for a week in our West Campus Education Building about every 10 weeks. Volunteers provide hot meals, arrange activities for children, or stay overnight. If you would like to learn more, click on the two websites below.
The Jennifer Clay Memorial Thrift Shop located on our West Campus is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm (except June, July and August when we are open only on Saturdays). We are an outreach to our community and the surrounding communities. We always need volunteers to help us on those days and encourage you to help one or more days a month. Hours for volunteers are flexible, either mornings or afternoons. We gratefully accept donations on the days that we are open.

Habitat for Humanity Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with Habitat homeowner (partner) families and volunteers. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, zero-interest loans. The homeowner is responsible for the monthly mortgage payment. The revenue received from the mortgage payments is used to support Habitat programs.
