August Mission Envelopes

Outreach Ministries asks that you use this month’s blue mission envelope to support THE HAVEN and COVENANT HOUSE FLORIDA.

The Haven was built from a community outreach effort in 1976 to provide assistance to youth in need. The Haven is an alternative home for young men, ages 9-18, who have been placed in protective care by the State of Florida. Each year, The Haven provides its comprehensive program to an average of 75-80 boys with the average length of stay at more than three years - with many boys staying until age 18. The mission is to foster the development of each young man's self-esteem and independence in a safe, loving, and stable alternative home.

Covenant House Florida serves runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth under 21 including teen parents and their babies. Opened in Ft. Lauderdale in 1985 and expanded to Orlando in 1995. Every day, they reach over 200 kids in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando via a street outreach, crisis shelters, transitional housing projects, and walk-in and aftercare services, making Covenant House Florida one of the largest private agencies serving runaway and homeless youth in the state of Florida.

Blue envelopes are found within your offering envelopes, or they can be found in the Sanctuary, Chapel or Gathering Place.
